Intermediate Creative Drawing

Intermediate Creative Drawing will build on the skills acquired in Beginning Drawing classes currenltly held as Saturday workshops  This class will learn and practice in greater depth the basic principles of drawing including still life, landscape and portrait drawing, color theory, composition and creative use of a variety of drawing materials and custom art papers.   In this ongoing studio class, students will be encouraged to discover their personal creative sensibilities and develop their own artful images in community with other artists.

Introduction to Throwing Pottery on the Wheel

Students will learn the basics of throwing pottery on the wheel.  They will be introduced to the nature of clay, centering on the wheel, forming pots and creative trim. Classes are small groups of 4 students each two hour session. This class meets on Monday evenings from 5:30-7:30 and Thursday afternoons from 1:00-3:00


Tuition is $95.00 each four weeks and includes instruction, use of equipment and the first bisque firing.  Clay is added to tuition as needed for $20.00 per 25 lbs.  Glaze and glaze firing is available at studio costs.  Prices will vary depending on desired choices and quantities.  Please contact the studio at (580) 606-0488 or for enrollment and to reserve your potter's wheel.

Hand Building with Clay

Students will be given the opportunity to work with clay and clay tools as the ancient master potters did creating clay pieces of their choice.  They will learn about the nature of clay and how to create hand built pottery forms using the techniques of pinch potting, coils and slabs as well as how to add decorative and design elements.  During the Fall and Spring seasons this class meets on Thursday mornings from 10:00-12:00. 


Tuition is $95.00 every four weeks and includes instruction, use of studio equipment and first bisque firing.  Clay is added to tuition as needed for $20.00 per 25 lbs. For one time sessions tuition is $35.00-$55.00 based on the project students are doing and includes clay and bisque firing. Glaze and glaze firing is available at studio costs.
